Ashley Anna McHugh is a poet and teacher, currently living in northwest Arkansas. She received her BA from The Ohio State University, her MA from Boston University, and her MFA from the University of Arkansas. Her first book, Into These Knots, is the 2010 winner of The New Criterion Poetry Prize, and her chapbook, Become All Flame, was published by LATR Editions in early 2011.
She was the 2009 winner of The Morton Marr Poetry Prize. Her poems have appeared in The New Criterion,Measure, Anti-, DIAGRAM, Crab Orchard Review, Verse Daily, and The Hopkins Review, as well as other publications. She is a contributing editor for Linebreak, which happens to be a phenomenal online literary journal that you should read.
She most enjoys thinking about the things she should be doing, but is—in fact—not. She finds this most pleasurable while drinking whiskey.
